Whether you are looking for an overnight stay, a midweek break or for something longer you will be certain to find a warm welcome at Swarthghyll Farm and Activity Centre.

Swarthghyll Farm and Activity Centre is a working thousand acre sheep farm set in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. Swarthghyll Farm and Activity Centre caters for the needs of walkers, corporate team building, outdoor activity groups, universities, schools, quiet weekends, midweek breaks and overnight stays for one and up to fifty guests.

All accommodation is self catering including a forty bed purpose built bunk barn, two self catering flats , the Studio and the Courtyard Cottage.

The Farm and Activity centre has established links to local organisations and licensed operators, who offer activities such as canoeing, climbing, orienteering, guided walks, team building, mountain biking and many more.

Swarthghyll Farm and Activity Centre is conveniently located in the North Yorkshire Dales, 5 miles/8 kilometers from Hawes, where there are a large number of Public Houses, Restaurants and Tea Rooms.

Straddling the Dales Way in Upper Wharfedale, Swarthghyll is within easy reach of the Lake District, the Pennine Way and North Yorkshire Moors.

There is also a number of interesting visitor attractions such as a working rope maker, the Dales Countryside Museum and Wallis and Gromit's favourite cheese factory where you can buy the world famous Wensleydale Cheese. A weekly street market is held in Hawes each Tuesday (see our links page for further information)

If walking is more your style it would be difficult to find a better location for your holiday base because Swarthghyll, as you will now know, sits astride the Dales Way, but only a few short steps away you will find the magnificent Pennine Way. Guided walks can be booked through Swarthghyll Farm and details of this popular service can be obtained at the same time as you make reservations for your accommodation.

If you fancy some MOUNTAIN BIKING - bring your own bike or you can Email Kudu Bikes in Hawes or telephone them on 01969 666088 .   A days bike ride is very popular so book early in order not to be disappointed.

Small dogs allowed for the Cottage and Flats only by prior arrangement.
